Steve Wozniak spoke at UC Berkeley this Tuesday. Here is a link to the video recording (Real Media). There are two quotes that sound idealistic but are rooted in reality,
- " it seems wrong to charge $6 for something that costs 6 cents. Shouldn't you tell your customers that it cost you only 6 cents". Yes Woz is correct. If you are simply acting as a middleman between a 6 cent supplier and a $6 buyer, you are not adding any value and your customers will soon figure this out. You credibility takes a hit. It is different however when you indeed add value by creating something better from the 6 cent components.
- " not every startup can become Google or Apple, but you have to keep trying"
